Our buildings provide a safe and supportive residential environment that fosters a sense of community and enhances the Yale experience for all graduate and professional students and their families. Additionally, Yale Housing manages a housing website, that provides off-campus, alternative housing for all members of the Yale community. This online secure database lists property rentals and homes for sale throughout the greater New Haven area.

- Browse all Yale University Students Housing.
Yale Housing Calendar of Key Dates
March
- Housing Intent for current residents
- Same room sign-up
- Transfer
- Vacating/Graduating
- Run lottery for transfer students
April
- Application process starts – approximately 3rd week of April
- Room Selection and assignment offers begin
- Offer contracts for Whitehall and Esplanade
- All other buildings will be in Room Selection process
- Current residents sign new license agreements for next academic year
- Resident Coordinator selection process begins for next academic year
May
- Dormitory residents vacate – typically Sunday before Memorial Day
- Summer housing time frame begins day after end of dormitory license agreement
June
- First 2 weeks of June – move around week for students transferring to a new room
- Apartment license agreement ends June 30. Residents not renewing must vacate by this date.
- Security deposit refunds are being processed
August
- New Apartment and Dormitory license agreement begins August 1
