University Of South Africa (UNISA) Open Short Learning Programmes Registration

One of South Africa’s prominent universities has an offering of Short Course Programmes and has invited prospective students to apply and register for the next academic year. Here’s all you need to know.
The 2023 registration period for the University of South Africa’s (Unisa’s) Short Learning Programmes has opened from 14 November 2022
and will close next year, on 28 February 2023.
Unisa’s short courses fall under the term Short Learning Programmes
which Unisa says, “focus on ‘just in time’ and ‘just enough’ learning to meet a specific learning need identified by individuals, organizations or society at large”.
Unisa is an open distance e-learning university, which allows students to pursue their studies by using online resources and study materials provided by the institution.
Many certificates, degrees and diplomas at the bachelor, master and doctoral levels are on offer, and you can also complete short courses which can help gain skills to further your career while employed.
Everyone wanting to start a new Short Learning Programme must apply for admission. This includes:
- First-time Unisa applicants.
- Unisa students changing to a new Short Learning Programme.
- Applicants who previously applied for admission but were not offered a space.
The application period opened on 1 September 2022 andclosed on 14 October 2022.
There is no application fee when applying for Unisa’s Short Learning Programmes.
After the student has submitted an application, they must use their logins to track their application outcome, however, the university will communicate the outcome of the short learning programme application between January and February 2023.
Students have been encouraged to use this opportunity by applying as early as possible to avoid the last minute rush.
Should students have enquiries about the specific programme, they may send an email to ucl@unisa.ac.za or uclregistration@unisa.ac.za.
