- There are a limited number of places available for some UNISA qualifications. Meeting the general and/or particular entrance requirements for a qualification does not guarantee you vacancy in the 2023 academic year.
Those who wrote Matric before 2009.
If you do not have a Senior Certificate with an endorsement stating that you are exempt from the matriculation requirement, please review the documents listed below to see if you are qualified to apply for undergraduate degree courses (not applicable to students who wrote the National Senior Certificate examinations from 2008):
- I have Senior Certificate, National Certificate Vocational or Foreign Certificate Equivalent tables of National Senior Certificate (from 2009) against Senior Certificate, National Certificate Vocational and Foreign Certificates (PDF)
- I don’t have a Senior Certificate with matric endorsement. Can I apply for bachelor degree studies? Admission to the bachelor degree (excluding the diploma & higher certificate)
If You are Applying for Credits from other Higher Education Institutions:
UNISA may be able to recognize previous formal education lessons. On a case-by-case basis, this will be considered. All credits earned at other universities do not apply to UNISA qualifications. Only when we have received your completed online DSAR04 form, a certified copy of an official academic record, a conduct certificate, and, in some situations, the syllabus, will we examine your request for exemption(s). SAQA evaluation and the syllabus are essential for foreign qualifications. During the application period, no academic record exemptions will be finalized.
You must meet the admission requirements for the qualification for which credits and/or exemptions are being sought. Credits and exemptions may account for up to 50% of the required credits. There will be no exceptions for UNISA’s signature modules. UNISA reserves the right to grant or deny exemption or credit transfer applications.
