UNEB UCE Grading System

Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) proposed a grading system for the Uganda Certificate of Education (O-Level) examinations in the year 2023-2034.

The proposed guide was posted on Uneb’s Facebook page. According to the grading system on the Facebook page, a D1 will range from 95% to 100% while an F9 will start at 0 to 49%.

P7 (56-59)

C6 (60-65)

C5 (66-69)

C4 (70-79)

C3 (80-89)

D2 (90-94)

D1 (95-100)

Which class is Grade 5 in Uganda?

Primary is divided into ‘lower primary’ (grades 1-3), a ‘transition year’ (grade 4), and ‘upper primary’ (grades 5-7).

What is first grade Uganda?

Students with between four and 12 points pass the PLE with a first grade, or division one. Those with scores between 13 and 23 get a second grade; 24 to 29 get a third grade, while those with 30 to 34 pass with a fourth grade.
