How To Delete Namecheap Account
Please submit a ticket with Namecheap providing your Namecheap account username, Support PIN and the reason why you would like to have the account closed.
PLEASE NOTE: Namecheap would like to inform you that as soon as your Namecheap account is closed, it *cannot* be re-established, and you *will not* have any access to it anymore. Also, you will not be able to create an account again with the same username, but you will be able to create a new account with Namecheap any time.
PLEASE NOTE: It’s not possible to close the account with active services in it. Please find below some tips on how to manage your services before the account closure:
– Active domains without/along with Domain Privacy/PremiumDNS subscriptions can be pushed to another Namecheap account or removed manually by Namecheap Support Team.
– Domains listed on the Marketplace should be removed from the listing before the account closure.
– Domains hosted on our FreeDNS can be removed by Namecheap Support Team and all the host records will be deleted as well. If you wish to save the records set for the domains – please copy them manually.
– SSL certificates/Private Email subscriptions can be cancelled or pushed to another account.
– Hosting packages can be switched to another username or cancelled within the Namecheap account.
– All active apps subscriptions will be canceled without a refund and all the information will be lost without the option to have it restored.
PLEASE NOTE: When your Namecheap account is closed, all of your personally identifiable information is placed in the “deactivated” status which means that it isn’t deleted from our database entirely. How To Cancel Namecheap Hosting Account
To avoid any unwanted service interruptions, please make sure you back up all the necessary data before your hosting account gets suspended and cancelled.To turn off the auto-renew feature, follow the instructions below:
- Log in to your Namecheap account;
- Go to the “Hosting List” > in the left-hand menu;
- Click on Manage option next to the hosting service associated with your domain name:
- Disable the “Auto-renews every month/year” option by removing the corresponding checkmark:
Alternatively, if you wish to have your hosting package canceled at once and all the data erased immediately, you may submit a cancellation request for the corresponding hosting service, as shown below:
- Go to the Hosting List in the left-hand menu;
- Click on Manage option next to the hosting service associated with your domain name:
OR: if your hosting service has grace/expired status, choose the Domain List menu in the bar on your left, select All Products in the upper right corner click the drop-down arrow next to the Renew button and select the Manage option.
- Click on Cancel service button near the package in question if you have an active subscription:
- Or click on the drop-down menu next to the Renew button and choose Cancel Service for the Expired/Grace status:
- Fill in the cancellation form with your feedback and submit the request. You will receive an email confirmation once your request is completed.
